When it comes to employing new people in an organisation, you are expected to offer more than ever before. It is not enough to just advertise a vacancy and hope that the applications flood in.

Despite a cost-of-living crisis, rampant inflation and news of sweeping tech layoffs, many businesses are still struggling to both recruit and retain employees.  Whilst much noise has been made about the talent shortage, the retention of current employees often gets forgotten about in the mad dash to hire new talent. But this is a huge oversight.

Onboarding new employees is a busy time. Everything from the interview and hiring to the first week of work takes planning and effort. However, when you prioritise your onboarding process, you ensure the success of your company by retaining employees for longer. 

Did you know that almost half of all UK employees feel emotionally drained due to their day-to-day work? Fatigue is the new epidemic sweeping across countries, putting both businesses and the staff who keep them afloat at risk. But this doesn’t have to be a no-win situation. Identifying that workplace fatigue is a problem can push employers to learn how to deal with it, helping their team stay happy, healthy, and productive.

In January 2020, recruitment expert Rita Chowdhry claimed to have created the ‘perfect CV’, a one-sided, 450-word CV designed for senior management positions in business, finance, or healthcare that she claimed will guarantee the applicant a six-figure role.

My journey with George House Trust started, like most things, with my network. I’m delighted to be a part of such an incredible HR community, one of whom was fundraising for GHT. They approached me and asked if We Are Adam would be able to provide a raffle prize. Of course, I was happy to get involved and we provided a restaurant voucher which was gratefully received.
